Dauphinee Centre: Red Tape Game

Solidarity was displayed this past Wednesday at the Dauphinee Center by the Saint Mary’s Men’s hockey team in support of a young indigenous player from Whycocomagh Nova Scotia who faced racial remarks from parents and other players in a minor hockey game towards the end of 2019.
To stand united against this behaviour, many teams have participated in the Red Tape campaign, including players from both Saint Mary’s and Acadia during their game that ended 4-2 for the Huskies. As the name suggests, players on either team dawned red hockey tape to show support in condemning racialized comments in what is otherwise a beautiful game.
